Fashion Jewelry Color Trends for Fall/Winter2011/2012

When choosing  this seasons colors in jeweley , try to remember you should not only think about the color of the piece, but also your apparel. For example a coffee colored top pairs nicely with white/cream pearls.  Here are some examples of jewelry in  this seasons colors, and ones that would compliment those colors.

Update on our Brain Cancer Bracelets

We have decided to rotate our donations for the brain cancer bracelets. Our first donation went to the National Brain Tumor Society. Our next set of donations will go to Owen's Toy Box. Here is  brief description of Owen's toy box,  they provide support to patients of the Inpatient Cancer Care Unit and their families. The “Toy Box” will be regularly filled with handheld games, books and other toys that will be presented to children for their use while in the Hospital and will go home with them following their stay. Funds will provide magazine subscriptions and support a “wish list” of ideas submitted by hospital staff and through recommendations from families, as well. JJsJewelrydesigns first home party.....thanks to my friend Sarah of Sarahmiller Photography for hosting.

It has been a busy summer with jjsjewelrydesigns. Our brain cancer awareness bracelets have been very successful. We have been busy beading and creating. My niece Kala just had a baby boy, and I have been busy moving to another house. Needless to say these great events have slowed us down slightly, but hasn't hurt our inventory. We are also going to be promoting our Go Red for Women bracelets.

All about JJsJewelryDesigns

Life was flowing along as it tends to do and then, in one dramatic day, my husband of 12 years was diagnosed with brain cancer. This devastating news was made more challenging by the fact that we have two young boys (7 & 9). Obviously, my life changed drastically, which is a huge part of why I started making jewelry. In times of extreme stress, I find handcrafting beautiful and unique pieces to be very therapeutic and even relaxing. It helps to provide me with something else to focus on when the day-to-day of our life feels overwhelming. I often think "why didn't I do this sooner?" but it wasn't meant to be before now. There is clearly a reason why it came to me during this difficult time in my life; I enjoy creating and take pride in my work. I hope you will enjoy my lovingly-crafted items as much as I enjoy creating them. I have recently discovered my niece also has been making jewelry so we have joined together to make it a family affair!
